Create something nutty this fall with our free printable acorn template sheets!

Acorn Facts and Tidbits

Acorns are the nuts from oak trees and play a crucial role in the great outdoors, as they are a major food source for many types of wildlife.

They are also believed to be a symbol of strength and resilience — and of course, a symbol of all things fall.

Acorns on a branch

While I tend to be more of a pumpkin girl myself (both for decorating and eating), I’ve been trying to add more variety to my decorating style, and acorns have recently made the lineup.

So, naturally, I felt it was time for them to make an appearance here on the blog as well!

Free Acorn Templates

If you’ve been following my content for any length of time, you already know that I love to share helpful tips and information with homeschool parents.

You also likely know that I enjoy creating freebies from time to time as well!

This new one is no exception.

3 sheets of acorn templates

While I feel like I spend my entire summer creating long-winded homeschool content, things seem to shift once fall arrives, and I tend to create more free printables than anything else.

I’m going to go ahead and blame that one on the fact that I just really love fall, you guys!

Mix that love of fall with my love of creating, and you’ve got a full line-up of fall-themed freebies!

More recently, though, I’ve been branching out (pun intended) to create low-cost printables as well.

So if you are eager to try out these acorn templates, you totally need to check out the acorn activity pages I created to complement them.

Printed and colored large acorn template. Acorn is colored in shades of dark and light brown.

All that said, I’m super excited about this one and cannot wait for you guys to get your hands on these acorn templates!

First, I created my traditional set of 3 different template sizes – a Large (featuring one acorn), a medium (featuring two acorns), and a small (featuring 4 acorns).

I create all of my templates this way for 1 simple reason — to give my readers a variety of printable template sizes to allow for flexibility in their crafting and decorating!

Bonus Freebie

While I generally only do the 3 different sizes, something was nagging at me to make an extra page for you guys!

So, here it is — the bonus acorn template freebie!!

Bonus sheet of acorn templates (12 small acorns)

I never do this, but for some reason, I just wanted to give you guys even more options this time around.

While most of our fall crafting templates only come in 3 different sizes, these acorn templates come in an additional extra-small size — featuring 12 tiny acorns for you to print, color, and cut!

Acorn Template Uses

While you can technically use these acorn templates in any way you choose, I always love to share a few simple ways my crafting templates can be used in and outside of the classroom!

4 small acorn templates printed and colored using shades of brown.

These cute little acorn freebies can be colored using the art medium of your choice (I chose to try out a few different crafting styles, as shown in the picture above).

They can also be used in many different ways!

  • Use as acorn coloring pages
  • Decorate classroom doors with acorn name tags
  • Make an acorn-themed banner
  • Create an acorn papercraft
  • Color and scatter as fall table decor
  • Use alongside acorn unit studies

Life & Homeschool Author

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…

Thanks for checking out the kid activities portion of the blog!

Typically summer is the most productive time for my blog. However, our family is currently living in temporary housing and we do not see an end in sight (thank you housing marking 😪) — meaning my workspace & supplies to produce quality content it extremely limited.

I am still working, but it’s nothing like normal.

As always, we appreciate your patience!
