What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22 and began in 1970.

Incredibly, 2020 marked the 5oth anniversary of Earth Day, where, unfortunately, most activities had to be moved online due to the pandemic.

I encourage you to check out the full historical timeline of Earth Day and share it in your classroom or homeschool this year!

Earth made out of clay sitting in grass with clay words in green and pink that read EARTH DAY.

All that said, this day has always been about raising awareness and encouraging everyone to do their part in taking care of our precious world!

Earth is being destroyed at an alarming rate, and it’s a great concern to all of us.

We can all do better, and honestly, we should want to!

Fun Earth Day Coloring Pages

While Earth Day is an important day for raising awareness of pollution, our need to recycle, and reminding us to care for our lands, it’s also a really great time to teach through activity-based learning.

Plus, any holiday is a great excuse for crafting and creating, you guys!

As for me, I totally view every single holiday as a reason to make a free printable, so here we are!

A couple of years ago, I shared this fun list of Earth Day activities with you guys, and it hit me this year that up until now, I had made zero Earth Day printables!

So, I started with simple Earth templates and a recycle symbol, and now here I am sharing even more fun with you all!

Printed and colored Earth Day coloring pages.

All that said, I had a lot of fun creating these Earth Day coloring pages, and I’m so excited to finally share them.

I created 3 simple options that work well with most ages and should fit all your Earth Day classroom needs.

First up, I made a simple Earth with a sprout and the words Earth Day — representing our world and the need to focus on new growth and caring for our planet!

Second, I created a Make Earth Day Every Day coloring page showcasing our world in heart form — representing our world being held and cared for year-round.

Lastly, a recycling Earth Day coloring page to encourage children to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

I truly hope these pages are useful for your classroom or homeschool and help motivate your children to work towards building a better world, as we all should!

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…

Thanks for checking out the kid activities portion of the blog!

Typically summer is the most productive time for my blog. However, our family is currently living in temporary housing and we do not see an end in sight (thank you housing marking 😪) — meaning my workspace & supplies to produce quality content it extremely limited.

I am still working, but it’s nothing like normal.

As always, we appreciate your patience!
