Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style with these printable leprechaun hat templates!

Legend of the Leprechaun

According to Your Irish, leprechauns are faerie folk from ancient Irish mythology and folklore.

They are believed to be a race of 2-3 foot tall supernatural beings who are devious, quick-witted, and intelligent.

While I’m not current on all Irish folklore, I’ve grown up knowing of leprechauns and have always enjoyed the fun side of it all.

So, whether you are super into the history, myths, and legends part of leprechauns or you simply want something fun to do for St. Patrick’s Day, I’ve got a fun new leprechaun-themed freebie for you!

Check it out!

Leprechaun Hat Templates

I’ve been on a mission to create crafting templates and free printables for home educators and teachers for the past few years, and I’m sure excited to add this one to the lineup this year, you guys!

My kiddos are nearly grown (and grown), and since I don’t spend much time crafting with them anymore, I mostly focus on creating top-notch lists of craft ideas and free printables for all of you instead!

These are just my latest creations, and they are so much fun, you guys!!

These leprechaun hat templates are perfect for using on their own.

However, they could pair well with our shamrock template and 4-leaf clover template as well!

So, make sure you check out all of our St. Patrick’s Day templates.

For now, though, check out these fun leprechaun hats!

  • Hearts and Clover Hats

I kept these leprechaun hat templates super simple, you guys!

That said, I did create 3 slight variations.

First up, these heart and clover leprechaun hat templates!

I knew I needed to create a hat with a 4-leaf clover, because it’s the iconic symbol of St. Patrick’s Day.

However, I also wanted to create a second option for those who aren’t necessarily into shamrocks and clovers, giving them a simplistic heart option instead.

Plus, having 2 slightly different hat options is great for in-classroom use, allowing children to explore their individuality by picking their fav!

  • Polka Dots Hat

All that said, I decided to create one final hat option just because.

While I love the other 2 hat templates, I just really wanted one with polka dots, you guys!

So, without further ado, this final leprechaun hat template is for all the fun polka dot lovers out there.

Much like the others, this printable leprechaun hat is perfect for crafting and creating this St. Patrick’s Day!

Oh, and did I forget to mention, they all come in 2 different sizes too!

Leprechaun Hat Uses

Whether you already have an idea in mind or not, these are some other fun ways you can use this freebie!

If you plan to use these printable leprechaun hats in the classroom, try one of these fun ideas!

  • Leprechaun hat name plates for your March door
  • March bulletin board of leprechaun hat paper crafts (have kids use tempera paint sticks or markers to create their unique hat)

Not using these in the classroom? No problem!

Using different art mediums, encourage your kiddos to create a personalized leprechaun hat at home or make a fun banner to decorate for St. Patrick’s Day!

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…

Thanks for checking out the kid activities portion of the blog!

Typically summer is the most productive time for my blog. However, our family is currently living in temporary housing and we do not see an end in sight (thank you housing marking 😪) — meaning my workspace & supplies to produce quality content it extremely limited.

I am still working, but it’s nothing like normal.

As always, we appreciate your patience!
