Creating a Turtle Craft
After many years of putting it off, I recently shared one of my most memorable crafts here on the blog.
My daughter first created this turtle craft during her preschool years, when she was attending a class at our local zoo.
All the parents were required to stay in the class to watch over and help their kiddos, and it truly was an experience I won’t soon forget.
We still talk about that class today, and she’s in middle school, you guys!
Anyway, if making a fun turtle craft is on your radar this summer, I’ve totally got you!
You can easily make this specific turtle craft (shown above) using the free turtle template I’m sharing in this post.
That said, if you landed here for a different reason, that’s cool too, and you can definitely use this free turtle craft template any way you’d like.
Turtle Craft Template
As I mentioned above, the idea for this turtle craft originated from my daughter’s preschool zoo class.
However, we used hand-drawn templates in that class, and I created this template to mimic the hand-drawn turtle craft templates we used way back when.
I actually made the original version of this turtle craft template several years ago when I was recreating that first craft experience I had with my daughter by sharing it with her 2 older brothers and a 4th child I was providing summer daycare for at the time.
That said, we used this template some years ago when my children were little, and we were crafting often.
It was actually featured as a part of our original summer crafts lineup when I first started blogging, and after many rounds of updates, it was simply lost and forgotten.
Until now.
So, here I am with an updated version of the original turtle craft template that I created for my very own kiddos!
Using Your Turtle Pattern
First, I just want to say that yes, this turtle template was designed for a specific use.
That said, you can definitely stray from its original purpose and create something unique and different as well!
Also, I totally created this template using only simple shapes, which = easy cutting and motor skills practice for little hands.
