It's a Zoo Out There

You can both inspire and create with our zoo animal coloring pages!

Family Fun at the Zoo

Visiting our local zoo was our favorite family pastime when my kiddos were little.

As homeschoolers who were enrolled in our zoo’s bi-weekly science classes, we enjoyed seeing all the animals from week to week and formed an incredible bond with most of the staff.

A Day at the KC Zoo - Giraffe

That said, my kids have grown and our beloved Kansas City Zoo trips are a thing of the past.

Now, we spend most of our adventure time exploring the woods in Northwest Montana or traveling to new places in our RV.

However, those days we spent hanging out at the zoo together will always be a treasured memory of mine.

Because of those treasured memories, and my love for the zoo back in our home state, I felt it was officially time to make a zoo-related printable for Life + Homeschool.

Since seasonal coloring pages for littles and awesome multi-use templates are my current printables jam, zoo coloring pages are where I landed, you guys!

Zoo Safari Animals Coloring Pages

While all zoos tend to have a wide variety of animals, some of our absolute favorites to visit were always the African safari animals!

My youngest had a huge love for giraffes and I enjoyed walking around the African section of the zoo as it was the largest.

So, these first 4 pages were inspired by that love.

Encourage students to stand tall, roar loud, think big, and stand out with these inspirational safari animal coloring pages!

Other Zoo Animal Coloring Pages

While safari animals are our absolute favorite, there are a few other things that always made our zoo trips memorable and fun over the years.

For starters, the zoo maps.

Welcome to the Zoo Coloring Page

While we didn’t get a zoo map every time we visited the Kansas City Zoo, we did get one each time they released a new one.

My youngest daughter has a KC Zoo map collection to this day.

So, that’s the inspiration behind this welcome to the zoo coloring page, you guys!

I seriously had way too much fun making this one.

Other Zoo Animal Coloring Pages

Next up, our 3 favorite animal enclosers to visit (outside of Africa).

While the KC Zoo doesn’t have a permanent koala exhibit, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing their temporary ones! My kiddos also enjoyed every type of monkey, and of course, the awesome penguin plaza was always a hit.

That said, there are a number of other awesome animals we loved checking out each time we visited such as tigers, polar bears, red pandas, stingrays, and sloths!

So, keep an eye out on Life + Homeschool for future awesome animal coloring pages!

Life & Homeschool Author

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…

Thanks for checking out the kid activities portion of the blog!

Typically summer is the most productive time for my blog. However, our family is currently living in temporary housing and we do not see an end in sight (thank you housing marking 😪) — meaning my workspace & supplies to produce quality content it extremely limited.

I am still working, but it’s nothing like normal.

As always, we appreciate your patience!
