First Day of School Signs

First Day Photo Ops

Using first-day-of-school signs as photo ops is the perfect way to capture those first-day smiles!

Back to (Home)School

August, which is typically known as back-to-school month, is officially here, you guys!!

Most parents around the globe are gearing up for back-to-school shopping while many homeschoolers are already knee-deep in the homeschool planning and organizing process.

That said, back-to-school celebrations aren’t only for this time of year!

If you homeschool year-round, as we do, you may not be planning your back-to-school festivities till later in the year.

We are currently on track to start our school year in September or October and I’m totally ok with that.

First Day of School Signs

While RV life has taught me to be more flexible when it comes to our homeschool start date, there is one constant I never compromise on.

I simply like tradition, you guys!

Back to Homeschool Printables

When my boys were little (and in conventional school), I always looked forward to getting their pictures at the start of each new year.

I took the iconic picture in front of the tree in our front yard, took pictures of them with their backpacks, walking down the hallway at school, and even snapped a picture of them at their new desk.

Fast forward to our homeschooling days and printable grade-level signs becoming increasingly popular, first-day picture-taking has become an even more enjoyable experience for this momma!

I take my time on that first day, get all the pictures, and soak it all in.

Chalkboard First Day of School Signs

All that said, whether you are a homeschooler or not, these first-day-of-school signs can be a great option for your first-day-of-school photo shoot!

While these aren’t technically the first back-to-school signs I made for our homeschool, this set totally takes the cake, you guys!

First Day & Last Day of School Signs

This awesome set comes with everything you need to capture grade-level pictures of your kiddos from start to finish.

Plus, there is a homeschool sign as well!

What’s Included: First and last day of homeschool signs, first and last day of preschool – 12th grade signs.

These simple first and last-day-of-school signs are designed to be used from preschool through graduation!

I designed the younger grades with a fun flag chalkboard design, while the middle school and high school years have a more mature chevron print.

Grade Level School Signs

In addition to the first-day-of-school signs above, I made these fun grade-level signs!

These grade-level signs are for fun photo ops with younger kiddos (preschool – 5th grade).

Elementary Grade Level Chalkboard Signs

I made these simply because it’s just so much fun to have options and take extra photos when our kiddos are little and hitting milestones on the regular.

What’s Included: Simplistic grade level signs for Preschool – 5th grade

These signs include cute sunshine and rainbow graphics and would make a wonderful secondary photo prop on the first day of school, for mid-year photos, or simply to remember a fun place or event you participated in during your homeschool year!

Back to (Home) School Signs

Finally, my original first day of school signs!

I created 2 of these back-to-homeschool printable signs during one of our first years of learning at home.

Homeschool Back to School Signs

That said, I also created an updated version (shown in front) to go with our fun grade-level signs!

What’s Included: 3 different back-to-school chalkboard signs.

These fun signs make a great addition to any first-day-of-school photo shoot! I loved using them for a group photo after shooting individual-grade shots.

While I cherished these homeschool signs when my kiddos were little, I have 2 grown boys and sadly no longer have a use for them in our home!

First Day of School at Home Signs

When Covid hit in 2020 and the world went into lockdown mode, parents found themselves battling a new beast.

Virtual learning.

As a homeschool blogger, I knew I wanted to help these parents in any way I could.

One of those ways was by creating our free educational resource library, the other was by creating these fun freebies below!

That crazy year when everything changed, you had the proud veteran homeschoolers and the at-home learning newbies who were learning to survive.

I made these signs for the survivors, you guys!

First Day of School Signs (at home)

While I technically made these for the non-homeschool community who was learning at home for a time, these can still totally be used by those who choose to homeschool as well!

What’s Included: Color learning at home signs for grades preschool – 6th grade.

I only made grades preschool – 6th for this one as it was a quick resource needed for new at-home learners.

However, due to continued popularity, I am considering expanding this set next year!

Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!

While these freebies have technically been available on our website for some time now, I’m so excited to finally have this dedicated space for them!

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…
