Homeschool Lesson Planning
It’s that time of year again.
The time when most homeschool parents are scrabbling to get their upcoming school year planned while finishing up their summer bucket lists.
Gearing up for that first homeschool year can feel overwhelming, but it truly doesn’t have to be!
Believe it or not, you can lesson plan like a pro and get your homeschool year off to an organized start, even as a newbie, if you have the right tools and know how to use them productively.
With that said, leave your picture-perfect idea of homeschooling at the door because homeschooling is truly a lively circus, you guys!
Finding Your Flow
While it took us a few years to find our flow, even that flow has grown and changed over the years.
The one thing that never changes, however? How I prepare our homeschool!
I’m just a planner girl, you guys.
This means I always, always, always utilize to-do lists, supplies needed lists, and pacing guides.
Even though our lifestyle has changed dramatically since becoming a full-time RV family, the methods and processes for all things homeschooling remain pretty much the same — with tiny tweaks here and there.
Yes, even our handy dandy file folder system is still a must in our tiny home on wheels!
Using a Supply List Template
Ok, if you are a list-loving momma, like myself, this one is totally for you!
As a road-schooling family that homeschools on the go, I tend to lean on the side of minimalistic and simple.
So, right now most of our curriculum excludes the extras and when it doesn’t — we simply skip it.
With that said, there are many in-depth curriculums out there that involve tons of extras.
For example, a chemistry curriculum will most likely involve a lot of experiments — which means lots, and lots of supplies!
Whether you buy everything in advance, your curriculum includes all the extras, or you shop on a lesson-by-lesson basis, printable supply list templates can easily be used alongside your homeschool curriculum to help you better sort when and where items will be used.
Free Homeschool Supply List
This is it, you guys! The original supplies needed list that I used in my very own homeschool many moons ago!
My wonderful hubby made this for me simply because it was something I needed.
This simple freebie has always been available to all my subscribers and it has helped so many other amazing homeschool families stay organized and keep track of upcoming needed supplies.
With that said, I recently updated our free printables library with 2 new versions!
Check them out below, then sign up for our monthly newsletter to get your hands on all 3!
New Supply List Templates
While I was incredibly thankful for the version my husband created for me all those years ago, I have evolved as a content creator and have gotten slightly more savvy with the computer.
This means I can lean a little less on him to create both simplistic and functional printables just for you!
Since we don’t all organize our thoughts the exact same way, I decide to create a couple of brand-new versions — giving you the ability to mix it up!
Check out these 2 simplistic supply list templates.
While I originally played with the idea of making these bright and fun, I ended up sticking with a simple black-and-white format.
I did this simply because I know what I crave as a homeschool mom — something that works.
These lists are simple, to the point, and skip the unnecessary fluff such as embellishments.
I truly hope they can help you create an organized and functional homeschool.
