Lean on printable winter activities when it’s too cold to venture outdoors!

Wintertime Fun

While I’m a huge lover of all things fall, I can have a bit of a love affair with winter, too.

From staying inside and watching the snow fall beside a warm fire to snow hiking with my kiddos!

I truly do have a love for winter (most days), you guys!

All that said, I’m not a huge fan of extreme cold, and that’s when indoor winter activities become a must.

Winter Activities

While getting outside in the snow to build a snowman is great winter fun, sometimes it’s just too bitter to get outdoors.

So, if you’re looking for a simple way to beat the boredom on extreme weather and snow days, these are for you!

Printable Winter Activities

I recently compiled a list of fun winter craft ideas for the kiddos, and I quickly concluded that crafting isn’t the only way to spend a winter day indoors!

Along with the help of some other awesome bloggers, I created this fun list of printable winter activities, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you all!

  • Printable Winter Games

Oh man, I remember the fun days when printable games could keep my boys busy for hours!

While I’m no longer in that stage of life, I know many of you are.

So, these are some of my top picks for winter gaming indoors.

Printable winter this or that game and memory match games

This fun winter this or that game (left) via One Simple Party is an easy way to get to know all of you kiddos! Plus, this game is ideal for most age groups — making it the perfect printable winter activity for larger families.

If you’re in need of a minute to yourself and have little ones at home, these match games are ideal for keeping little hands busy (and learning).

Match games make great preschool activities and are perfect for cold winter days!

Winter I Spy Games

If your kiddos get bored with match games or they simply need a different type of challenge, I Spy activities are a great go-to!

This winter I spy (left) via Learn Grow Aspire is simple and to the point, making it ideal for little ones.

While these winter I spy sheets (top right) via Loving Homeschool and this winter search and find page (bottom right) via The Crafty Blog Stalker are both a little more on the challenging side!

All 3 of these printable winter activities are great for homeschoolers and educators alike.

Winter BINGO game and Don't Eat Pete game

Whether you are looking for something classic or something new, I’ve totally got you!

Go classic with this winter BINGO (left) via Artsy Fartsy Mama, or try something new with this fun-looking winter Game (right) via The Benson Street.

While I’ve never heard of Don’t Eat Pete, I do recall the days of playing themed bingo with my boys, and those are some fond memories, you guys!

Printable winter Charades and Pictionary games

If games are your thing, don’t move on just yet!

I’ve got 2 more classics for you.

Get the kids up and moving with these printable winter activities.

These winter pictionary (left) and winter charades (right) printables via Darcy and Brian sure look like a fun way to spend a snow day, you guys!

  • Winter Activity Sheets

While games are fun, sometimes all you need to keep the kiddos busy on the off days are fun activity sheets!

From summer activity sheets for beating the heat to winter activity sheets for beating the cold.

Winter activity pages

If you’re stuck inside and need a simple activity for the kids to focus on so you can focus on a little self-care or daily housework maintenance, these are some great options, you guys!

First up is this adorable winter activity page (top left) via Artsy Fartsy Mama. This one is great and includes multiple activities on one page!

Next, we have these winter activity sheets (top right) via Simple Everyday Mom. I tried not to pick too many worksheet-type activity pages for this post, but I simply had to include this one, you guys!

The activities are light and simple, and with 4 pages to choose from, you are likely to find exactly what your kiddo needs!

Finally, we have these winter Mad Libs (bottom left) via Thrive at Home Central and this winter wordsearch (bottom right) via The Benson Street for simplistic indoor winter fun!

Kindness activity sheets

Looking to encourage some kindness in your home this winter? Much like gratitude activities are perfect for fall, I feel like practicing kindness and giving are great for winter.

Check out all 3 of these kindness activity pages for the kiddos.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

  • Hands-On Winter Activities

Games and activity sheets are fun, but hands-on activities are where it’s at — especially if you are homeschooling preschool or kindergarten!

Check out some of my favorite picks for printable hands-on winter activities!

Block pattern activity sheets and winter-themed playdough mats

These winter pattern block mats (left) via In the Playroom are so awesome, you guys!

We leaned on wooden pattern tiles for my daughter’s preschool and kindergarten years, and they are just so much fun!

That said, these winter playdough mats (right) via Fun a Day look pretty good too.

If playdough mats are your thing, check out these additional winter playdough mats (not pictured) via Beth Ann Averill. With 27 different mats to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect fit!

Winter cootie catcher with winter animals

Last, but certainly not least, a fun printable winter activity for the older kiddos!

Where are all my 90’s kid moms at?? Cootie Catchers were one of my absolute favorite things as a tween in the 90’s, so I’m pretty stoked about this one, you guys!

This fantastic winter Cootie Catcher via Artsy Fartsy Mama looks like a great way to spend some time indoors this winter!

Oh, man, the memories.

  • Creative Winter Activities

If activity sheets, games, and hands-on fun aren’t what you’re looking for, I’ve got you!

These next few sets of printable winter activities are all creativity-based.

While some could be considered just crafts, making them a great addition to our list of winter craft ideas, they made it to this list instead simply because I feel they are a good mixture of both craft and activity.

Check em’ out!

This free printable encourages kiddos to create matching patterns.

So, in reality, this one is kinda the best of both worlds.

Hey guys! I’m Mary, homeschool mom of 3 amazing kiddos.

I’m so excited that you decided to check out my little corner of the world!

If you have been following our journey for any length of time, you already know that I’m obsessed with coffee, organization, and all things simple.

I’m also a huge dog lover and introvert 💗

My homeschool style is very eclectic.

I enjoy a solid mixture of structure and free range. I set goals for myself and my children each week, but I put no pressure on perfection.

We use a wide variety of curriculum in our home.

Some of our current favorites are The Good and the Beautiful, Life of Fred, Beautiful Feet Books, and Lifepac.

While my kids do spend a good amount of time learning at desks, they also spend countless hours exploring their creativity and practicing a little independence.

I love mountains, rainy days, and sitting by the campfire.

Our family recently relocated to the PNW and we have been enjoying finding new nature spots to explore together 🙌🏼

I can’t wait to connect and share all the things I’ve learned on our new journey!

Just a Note…

Thanks for checking out the kid activities portion of the blog!

Typically summer is the most productive time for my blog. However, our family is currently living in temporary housing and we do not see an end in sight (thank you housing marking 😪) — meaning my workspace & supplies to produce quality content it extremely limited.

I am still working, but it’s nothing like normal.

As always, we appreciate your patience!
